Nest Africa AI Innovation Lab partnered with Build Nigeria Initiative, YandyTech Community, and Smart Aid Initiative to deliver a practical two-day AI Automation Training in Kaduna.
The programme brought together more than 20 youth, young professionals, and community innovators to explore how artificial intelligence and automation can improve business processes, community projects, data tasks, and everyday workflows.
Designed to bridge the gap between AI theory and real-world application, the training combined guided instruction, practical coding exercises, group work, mentorship, and live demonstrations. Participants were encouraged to move beyond using AI as a simple conversational tool and begin applying it to structured workflows and locally relevant problems.
A practical pathway from ideas to working automation
Prompt Engineering
Participants learned how to structure clear prompts, define context, refine outputs, and use AI more effectively for research, communication, and problem-solving.
AI Workflow Tools
Sessions introduced practical tools for organising repetitive tasks, connecting processes, improving productivity, and supporting data-driven work.
Ethical AI Integration
The programme addressed responsible use, transparency, human oversight, privacy, accuracy, and the importance of applying AI in ways that benefit communities.
Coding and Group Projects
Participants completed guided coding exercises and worked in teams to transform practical challenges into functioning automation concepts and prototypes.
Participants built and demonstrated AI automation prototypes
Working in groups, participants developed AI agents and prototypes for task automation, data processing, and community-oriented solutions. The projects were presented through live demonstrations, helping participants practise collaboration, technical communication, and rapid problem-solving.

Partners combined complementary strengths
Joint facilitation helped the programme reach participants with both technical and community-focused support. Nest Africa AI experts provided practical instruction and mentorship, YandyTech Community supported the technical delivery, and Smart Aid Initiative contributed community-impact modules. Participants also received resources for continued self-learning and future project implementation.
Creating connections beyond the training room
In addition to technical learning, the programme created opportunities for peer networking and future collaboration. Participants connected with facilitators and fellow learners working across technology, entrepreneurship, and community development, supporting the growth of a local network of responsible AI practitioners.
